As a business person looking to create a website, we know you have lots of questions. But don’t fret…we’ve got answers! If you have a question we haven’t tackled here, drop us a line.
How long does a typical website take to produce?
Generally, 3-9 months from contract acceptance to site launch. If Branding/Logo design is required, that will add to the timeline. Each project is unique, but we generally advise clients to anticipate a detailed and highly collaborative process.
Can I leave my existing site up until we finalize the new one?
YES! We create what is called a ‘development site’. We tack it onto our own server, and it’s only visible to you and the DreamTeam for the duration of the design and development process. This way your existing site stays in tact and visible while we design your awesome new site!
I want a website but don’t have a logo yet, can we get the site done first?
We generally suggest clients get their branding sorted out prior to web development. If you need help with your logo, definitely connect with Jaime as branding is her specialty.
How do I market my site once it’s published?
We’ve got you covered! Upon completion of your new site, the Dream Team YYC will send you a comprehensive post-launch marketing checklist, loaded with ideas to get you started.
Once my WordPress site is built, can I edit the content on my own?
Absolutely! All of our packages include training to set you up for WordPress success and ease of use.
What if I don’t want to be responsible for editing the site?
No problem! Christina offers a variety of maintenance packages, which include keeping your site functions current and adding content.
Should I incorporate a pop-up on my site to promote a specific product or free gift?
This is one of those “it depends” answers. Pop-ups can be a great tool, as long as you use them properly. Things to consider include content, placement and triggers. We can help you figure out what makes the most sense for your site.
Can you help with creating a landing page?
Yes. We can design a landing page from scratch or use a trusted plugin like OptimizePress.
Why do you call yourselves the ‘Dream Team’? Ego much?
After a couple of projects together, Jaime and Christina realized how well their talents and expertise complemented each other. It literally felt like a dream to work together as a team, resulting in seriously impressed and happy customers. So the name is not at all about us, although our clients do tend to agree 😉
